Funding for this free class, which provides relief and support to those suffering from dementia, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s or stroke-induced memory loss, and their caregivers.

Music therapists are there with musical instruments to sing along.  The class provides time to share favorite songs, stories and laughter.  The class meets the second and fourth Monday of the month year-round. The classes average 20-25 participants.

“The caregivers and their loved ones were immediately put at ease by the interactive singing led by Sun Joo Lee who was accompanied by Vicki Noble with guitar,” said Treasurer of Leisure World Foundation Jan Rehmus, who attended a session. The fellowship was extremely uplifting and inspiring.”

A $500 grant was awarded for classroom supplies and songbooks. The Foundation also pays for the teacher’s expertise and time. Refreshments are served at the end of every session.
